The fourth house will enable us to offer more places so that more people with learning disabilities can become members of L'Arche Edinburgh. Many adults with learning disabilities continue to be cared for by ageing parents who do not know how long they will be able to cope. There is a strong unmet demand in and around Edinburgh, for more supported accommodation, and L'Arche wants to help.
We expect the cost of our new house to be between £750,000 and £1 million. We have already raised about £350,000. We need people who are prepared to contribute some time, money, contacts, expertise, organisational ability and energy - just some of these will do fine! Please contact us if you can help in any way!
You could play a real part in creating this valuable, new, permanent service, not only for L'Arche Edinburgh, but more importantly, for the people and families that need our help most, and are least able to help themselves. Would you be able to give us a donation? Either write to us with your cheque or donate online:
